WAKE UP O' WOMAN---DON'T BE APPENDAGE OF MAN!

What is a woman, a common question always persists,

Some say without the man, a woman just can not exist;

Sure, the man only views a woman as a thing of beauty,

Who, also, must be seen to carry out home maker's duties.

From "Ranjha's Heer" to "Majnu's Laila" through "Romeo's Juliet",

Your devotion and dedication to your man has been totally explicit;

No doubts, euphemism of a "Radha' or a "Sita" brings no dignity,

As 'Krishna' flirted with 'gopis' and "Rama" questioned your fidelity.

She blindly trusts him and confides, which leads her to blunder;

It is no secret that man often treats her as his personal property,

Woman merely serves him as an object for his sexual activity.

It is truism a man's real intent even a mother can't discern,

He grows up in her lap but forgets her and show no concern,

Her cuddling kisses and caring touches, when he was in cradle,

Would be invariably forgotten, once wife rides his life's saddle.

It is a gospel truth that a man lacks in mental robustness,

When the crisis descend, he cracks up and cries in distress;

Often, a woman comes to his rescue to hold him straight--

It could be a doting wife or a mother who re-writes his fate.

You have been abused enough, so, rise! O', Woman, rise!!

No matters, if you are a mother, sister, daughter and wife;

You allowed yourself to be treated as an appendage of man;

Wake up to break free of servility and create your own elan.!

Man often shifts loyalty from mother to wife, then, to daughter,

For self-seeking pursuits, even his kith and kin, he would barter;

Face him straight, don't you look down and don't you squeak,

Stand up o', woman ! Stare into his eyes and then you speak.
