EXCERPT-1 FROM MY BOOK ---- KASHMIR ! A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE

I have a friend from North Kashmir. He gave me this story to motivate me to write a book on KashMir. It is published by TURNING POINT PUBLISHERS , New Delhi. This story is part of the book, titled, "KASHMIR- A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE". My friend hails from Kachhama-Tregham area of North Kashmir. His name is Kalmuddin. He is very intelligent and well informed but poor and illiterate as is the fate of most ordinary but well-meaning people. The year he gave me this story was the year of KARGI-99 Episode.

Now read the story--------from the Section: GO AWAY HISTORIANS, THEY , TOO, KNOW THEIR HISTORY!

There lived a man named KHUDA BUX in TAREGHAM, North Kashmir. He was god fearing, pious and sagacious. He was so gentle and nice that he couldn't hurt a fly. He was respected and likened by everyone. He offered NAMAZ five times a day. It is said that the tales of his piety and saintly ways reached the GOD. He did not believe that in such hard days there could be a man of KHUDA BUX's description. GOD decided to see it for himself. Also the tales of the beauty of KASHMIR enamored him. He handed over the reign of HEAVENS to his deputy GOD and came to see KHUDA BUX in Kashmir. GOD landed in TAREGHAM and saw KHUDA BUX. He was impressed. He decided that he would take KHUDA BUX to heavens along with him. He checked up the details of KHUDA BUX’s earthly life and realised that he had some more time left so HE decided to have some holidays in GUL MARG. Thus god became busy in merry-making.

It so happened, one day in the year 1990, there was an encounter at TAREGHAM amongst the militants and the security forces. Both sides suffered heavy casualities. Unfortunately, in the cross fire, even KHUDA BUX got killed. All the dead persons were taken to the chambers of PRESIDING GOD of the heavens. As soon as a person of security force will march in the presiding god would ask him the place he had belonged to. Each one would give out his state in India. The presiding GOD would command, "A SOLDIER DIED IN BATTLE! MARCH HIM INTO HEAVENS." Next was the turn of the militants. As soon as a militant would tell him that he had come from PAKISTAN, the PRESIDING GOD will announce, "MILITARY & POVERTY PUSHED HIM INTO THIS, HE HAD NO CHOICE; MARCH HIM INTO HEAVENS." Finally came the turn of KHUDA BUX.

As soon as Khuda Bux majestically walked in for a royal treatment, for he was a man of no sin, the presiding GOD, shouted, "Where do you come from"? Holding his head high and Chest straight, Khuda Bux replied, " Kashmir, Sir, Kashmir". The presiding GOD snarled, " Go back you RASCAL." Instantly, KhudaBux was thrown to earth in Kashmir.

In the meanwhile, the actual GOD was happily enjoying his holidays in GULMARG. One day the real GOD met the spirit of Khuda Bux in GULMARG, by chance. GOD was stunned. He asked the Spirit as to what had happened? KHUDA BUX narrated his tale of woe.The real GOD was totally cut off with his deputy for his lack of justice and judgement and he decided to undo the injustice to KHUDA BUX. He asked the spirit of Khuda Bux to come along to heavens with him.

As soon as they reached the gates of heavens, the real god sent Khuda Bux ahead of him to the chambers of the presiding GOD. Moment he entered the presiding god got furious and shouted," I told you to go back you rascal". Immediately, The REAL GOD entered and scolded his deputy for his poor judgment and injustice." The erstwhile DEPUTY AND NOW PRESIDING God retorted," You too go back, u ras---"Real God was shocked and asked ,"WHAT FOR?" The Presiding God responded," TO FIND OUT THE TRUTH AS TO HOW KHUDA BUX AND HIS PEOPLE HAVE CONVERTED A LIVING HEAVEN INTO HELL".

It is said ever since then the REAL GOD and the spirit of KHUDA BUX have been roaming in the valley of Kashmir to find out as to how it happened. Every time they work out an answer some more KNOTTY questions spring up. They are thus stuck in the time capsule.

When Kalmuddin narrated this story to me, I chuckled, " Oh! Goodness gracious! GOD on their side, yet Kashmir is tormenting."

My friend, Kalmuddin butted in , " NO Sir, Even GOD can not find solution to Kashmir Problem."

FUTURE PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA: AJAY SINGH BISHT ALIAS YOGI ADITYANATH

Indian media, particularly English, and opposition leaders are busy these days demonising Yogi Adityanath Nath, newly elected Chief Minister ( CM) of Uttar Pradesh. The more they criticise him, more his popularity is zooming. It makes people like me sit up and watch him and listen to him. He seems to be knowledgeable and confident. His logic speaks for him--- his biggest attribute is his non-assemblage of family baggage with him, which is the undoing of most political leaders.

His five time election win for Loksabha show that he was a mass leader , which is a rarity in the present political stratagem of the nation. This man, mark my words, is destined to be the future Prime Minister of India, once Narender Modi Innings comes to an end----- may be by 2024 or even by 2029. Age is in his favour. He is only 44 years old. He will give Rahul Gandhi , projected PM candidate of Congress, a run for his miney.

To be very honest, I claim to be well informed politically, but I did not know that Yogi's real name was Ajay Singh Bisht and that he was from Uttarakhand. I am sure most others also did not know. Media never told people that he was a Maths graduate and from Uttarakhand. He was always shown as a flag bearer of Hindutava---- almost inferring and sounding as a HINDU TERRORIST, which is now proving to be a first degree falsehood of leftist and Congress sponsored/ paid Media. It also shows now that all these caste and polarisation allegations against him were politically created bumps of misinformation to retard his political growth. No doubts, like Narender Modi, they would continue to halt him in his march but he would smother them all. The man needs to be watched for his performance in UP.

This man, as against media charges, had never flaunted his Rajpoot caste and graduate qualifications. What was surprising that over the last 20 years, no one knew his real name. He was projected as another uneducated religious bigot. I always thought so. But his logic seems appealing to me. He is more qualified than Pappu and host of other big- wigs of Political spectrum from Sonia Gandhi to Tejasvi Yadav ( Dy CM if Bihar). Jayalalitha was only 12 th pass but she was a mass leader.

He is knowledgeable and confident. His last speech in Lok Sabha speaks volumes about it. His reply to media questions on his speaking for Hindus is very very impressive. There are a number of You Tube videos where media is shown eating their words, while trying to show him as a monster. He claims that he was not anti- Muslims. In fact, in his Gorakhnath Math ( Religious seminary) at Gorakhpur , there are large number of Muslim employees. A Times of India article , the other day showed that he was loved by Muslims of Gorakhpur and Eastern UP. He is trusted and respected in the 34 districts of Eastern UP. If he manages UP well in next five years, his political stature is going to go up many notches up. In few years from now, he might be second only to Modi in political heirarchy of BJP . Watch him rise. He seems to have begun well.

There is a dialogue by a police inspector, portrayed by Satyen Kappu, in a Hindi Movie, BENAAM ,vintage 1970s , Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Mosami Chatterjee. It states : हर इन्सान को शरीफ़ होना चाहिए, मगर इतना भी नहीं कि शराफ़त से बुज़दिली की बू आए। one must ponder about this. Silent majority of this country ought to know this. Evil can not be wished away by closing one's eyes but by standing up to it. Silent majority must shed this Pigeon Mentality. Diamond only cuts diamond. Those who do not understand the language of peace, they ought to be spoken to in their language. Gone are the days of MK GANDHI --- peace does not come by turning your other cheek to the assailant but through the barrel of counter violence. Remember this.

CHINA MAY MISCALCULATE: INDIA BE READY FOR A BORDER BLITZKRIEG !

"-----With a GDP several times higher than that of India, military capabilities that can reach the Indian Ocean and having good relations with India's peripheral nations, coupled with the fact that India's turbulent northern state borders China, if China engages in a geopolitical game with India, will Beijing lose to New Delhi?" thunders a Chinese Newspaper Editorial.

China is fuming hot not because of His Holiness, Dalai Lama's visit to Arunachal Pradesh but the very audacity with which India has stood up to China's bullying tactics. It is angry because India has decided to act as an equiavalent of China in geopolitical and geostrategic matrix of the world.. China can not digest the fact that India can challenge her might. It continues to be drunk with 1962 victory, though conveniently forgetting massive drubbing it got in 1967 Nathula Incident. .

It is time for India to be ready for a surprise blitzkrieg by China to undermine her newly acquired confidence. To be prepared for the worst is the best Defence. How would or could China act is in two ways. i.e. Short Term and Long Term objectives.

The short term objective would be to capture Tawang - Lumla Area in Arunachal Pardesh in a swift and forceful military action along the border. Tawang has a second biggest Tibetan monastery. I was there as OC TROOPS in 1978-79--- it is a strategic place along borders with Bhutan. China claims it to be part of Tibet. This would be a very High value target for her not only to satisfy her claims but also pull down India's international image. India can not afford to lose this territory. Besides, along with this, China might launch a diversionary and a deceptive attack in Leh Area ,so as to threaten to capture DBO or Pankingtso lake in Dorbuk - Tangtse Area. It would be only to draw attention away from Tawang - Lumla Area. India needs to prepares itself well in both sectors.

The long term objective would be to break up India through internal explosion by supporting North East/Maoists/ J&K / Punjab Militancy. To do so, it would use Pakistan extensively. As it is, it had OUTSOURCED its War by Other Means ( WOM ) on India to Pakistan , some years back. It might now intensify by active support. As reported, China has already some 10-15000 troops in POK to support her CPEC venture to Gwador warm water port on the Persian Gulf.

China had made her intentions known of breaking up India into 20-30 states, way back in 2009, through an article in GLOBAL TIMES, her official mouth piece. Though , later article was withdrawn but the cat was out of the bag. It has been since pursuing it slowly but steadily through "String of pearls" policy to contain India and then IMPLODE it through home - grown insurgencies in North EAST, J&K, PUNJAB and Maoist Movement in Central and South India. Therefore , India must take these Chinese statements seriously and start working to not only counter them but also cause similar damage to China.

India needs to adopt a 'Tit for Tat' policy on China. It must tell China: if you throw pebbles at us, we would throw stones and boulders. China has Three vulnerable areas internally. They are , Xin jiang province of Uighr Muslims; Tibet and outer Mangolia., which can be exploited by India to spark insurgency conditions in China. Externally, China , too has it's hostile neighbors in Vietnam, Japan, Phillippines and Malasia. Do not forget to count USA, itching to corner China in South China sea.

Thus, India must begin to exploit this openly and make use of other powers of the region. We must get out of this Nehruvian soft corner towards about China, who had turned down UNSC seat in 1955 because of China. This was Nehru 's biggest blunder along with accepting suzerainty of China over Tibet and taking Kashmir issue to UN. In fact , Sardar Patel, had told Nehru, then, that he would repent for taking Kashmir issue to UN.. it was Nehru, who gave " BIG BROTHER STATUS" to China in 1950s that she continues to behave like this. .

After 1962 debacle, India became a laughing stock when Nehru begged world to help her against China. His NON- ALLIGNED friends had gone silent. John F Keneddy, US President then, rebuked India for not been able to stand against China for 24 hours , when we cried to USA for help.. Non- Allighment movement is dead today and India is struggling to get UNSC seat which was once offered to her on a platter. And it is China , who is opposing it , for whom Nehru had such a soft corner.

2017 can not be 1962. China knows it , too..Neither is there a Nehru to ignore Chinese threat to India. But China can always surprise India by a sudden move along the Arunachal border with a very limited objective. Time for India to to adopt an aggressive approach. If China attacks along Arunachal , India must open up other fronts to make her pay for her audacity. Also, India must support Uighr Muslims, in Xin Jiang province of China, openly. OBOR ( One Belt,One Road) to Gwador starts from Xinjiang province of Uighr Muslims. It can be tarpedoed through active insurgency, which can be further extended to Balochistan, thus make life difficult for China. Baloch insurgency is already a major concern for China and Pakistan. Time is also ripe to fuel Tibetan aspirations. It will engage PLA in controlling them, rather than nourishing desire to take away Tawang.

Time to act now------- do not surround yourself in political moralities. .Let these leftist sympathisers be kept in a check. Get Ready India. Do not say later that you were not warned. Chinese threats are real and they are probing attacks on your intentions. Show positive response to checkmate China. Same goes for Pakistan. Do not allow her to create a fence along Durand line. CPEC must be halted in its strides to hurt China and Pakistan equally.

TECHNO SMART WARS OF THE FUTURE : OF SUPER SMART SOLDIERS & SUPER SMART WEAPONS !

TECHNO- SMART WARS OF THE FUTURE: LAT ( LEAN & THIN) ARMIES OF "SUPER SMART SOLDIERS" ! 

When on 07 April 2017, Syrian Airbase was struck by 59 Tom hawk missiles , fired from two US Aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean Sea, world saw heralding of "Super Smart War" of the 21st Century. It testifies old military saying that war in every age has its own form, weapons and dimensions. Revolutions in Military Affairs(RMA) have drastically changed the concept and nature of war in the 21st century. We are moving away from "soldier -heavy -wars " to TECHNO WARS. There would be no monkey dancing armies across enemy borders but remote controlled weapons zooming across the battlefields with no defined "fronts" and "Rears".

The future wars are going to be techno- smart wars of "Lean and Thin" Armies (LATA) with "Super Smart Soldiers", remotely handling "Super Smart Weapons" of much greater ranges with precision guided accuracy and exhibiting deadly lethality. Enhanced Range, deadly lethality and perfect accuracy not only lead to the rise of "Techno Smart Soldiers", who would be far away from the scene of physical objectives. Such Techno- Smart-wars would have no geographical limitation. Targets would not be only men and equipment in Olive green but entire war making potential of your adversary , from unarmed civilians to industrial and economic hubs. Definition of Combat Zone will include warring nations or a whole group of nations engaged in military conflict. 

"Individualisation" of social systems (breaking up of families) would also have its tell- tale effect on individualisation of combat philosophies. Industrial arena concept of Mass production has given way to " De- Massification" of production in a knowledge society, driven by Technological blast. It would also lead to " De- Massification" of armies and make them lean and thin. As a result, Customised Soldiers" would dominate the future battle fields. They would be tailor made to suit the "customised Wars". And best example of this is the "LONE WOLF SOLDIERS" of terrorist organisations. 

"Lone wolf attacks" by ISIS has turned the whole world into a Battle Zone. Belgium, France, Germany, UK and recently Sweden have been seen these attacks. Even USA has witnessed this enemy attacking at will at various places in USA. War has thus come at the doorstep of a common man. Soon these customised soldiers would engulf the whole world. 

Drone attacks by USA in Afghanistan and a recent missile attack on a Syrian Airbase have added new dimension to the conduct of the war in the 21st Century. They are needed to tackle the "LONE WOLF FACTORIES" run by some nations. To fight such an enemy , one needs precision guided weapons with total accuracy to avoid collateral damage. Missiles, drones and WsMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) are going to play important role in such a future war, which would be less dependent upon human beings but technology. 

The three wings of the armed forces of a nation would have to undergo dynamic changes. Nations, aspiring to be world powers, would have to pay more attention to their Navies. Domination of ocean not only provides alternative launch pads against your adversaries but it also provides flexibility in order to enhance the range, accuracy and lethality of your weapon systems. Thereafter "Space Arm Force", ( SAF) such as Missiles / Drone ( Erstwhile Airforce) needs to be given priority. In short, the manned aircrafts and "dog battles" in the air will not be preferred mode of space wars. Interceptor missiles such as BARAK and PATRIOT, capable of destroying incoming missiles and drones hundreds KMs away will dominate future wars. Finally, the land forces, would be more oriented towards sub- conventional warfare (SCW). Role of tanks and arty guns would be limited to border management of war. Highly mobile but NBC protected mechanized vehicles would replace elephant - like heavy armoured vehicles In fact, "Heptrized Force" may replace Armoured or mechanized forces.

All this does not mean infantry would be redundant. You would require it to hold the ground to show occupation. Here Infantry might get involved in sub- conventional conflicts with defeated enemy. Infantry soldiers have to learn to be individualized. Future foot soldiers would be smart soldiers capable of taking on the "Lone wolves". They will be "customized" to take on "enemy" independently anywhere in the world. Covert operations would be the highlights of customized wars of the future. To sum it up, CUSTOMIZED WARS of future would need Customized Smart Soldiers with Customized weapon systems. Gulf wars of 1991 and 2003 gave first glimpses of customized wars. Drone war in Afghanistan and Iraq has taken the story beyond the Knowledge era to "Cosmic Age". Space would be the new Combat Zone.
