ROAD FROM DANTEWADA---INDIA MAKE HISTORY BUT DO NOT BECOME HISTORY!

There are two faces of India for the world to see. One which shows itself up, off and on at Dantewada 6/4 or Mumbai 9/11 and such like events with repititive periodicity. The other which Shashi Tharoor, MOS for External Affairs of the Union of India, talks about---the spread of India's 'soft power' world wide----the vibrant India----whose wonder boys of IT are making waves everywhere-----the 'cultural India' which brings trouble- torn Afghanistan to virtual stand- still in the evenings between 2030 hours to 2130 hours because the Afghanistan 's TOLO TV broadcastes an Indian telly serial 'SAAS BHI KABHI BAHU THII' (MOTHER-IN -LAW WAS ALSO A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW ONCE), dubbed in DRI language. It is this India which makes an old woman in SENEGAL to travel a distance of 50 kMs from her village to DAKAR, the capital of Senegal, every sunday just to see a HINDI movie, of which she does not understand a word.

It is the India of AR REHMAN which makes the world dance to his tunes of "JAI HO". It is the India of Sushmita Sen, Aishwariya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Lara dutta, Yogita Mukhi, Diya Mirza and many more such beauties. It is the india of Filmstar nights in Dubai and Middle East which makes Arabs hum Bollywood songs with great aplomb. It is India which boasts of a culture of 5000 years or even more. It is the India who was known for tolerance, peaceful co-existence, non-violence and ethical moralities. It is India which embraced all invaders and traders in her lap and gave them a unique character of being a proud Indian, who never desired to go back to their places of origin. It is the India, which gave the message of ' RAGHU KUL REET SADA CHALI AAYI, PRAN JAYE PAR VACHAN NAA JAAYE' ( IT IS THE TRADITION OF 'RAGHU' DYNASTY THAT THEY WOULD SACRIFICE THEIR LIVES BUT PROMISES THEY WOULD KEEP). This India makes me proud.

But other 'India of Dantewada' makes me sick and remoarse. It reminds me of the treachery of 'Mir Jaffars' , Jai Chand Rathaurs and that RAW officer RAVINDER SINGH. They sold their India for , should I say, a fistful of 'silver coins'. I think it would be appropriate if I say that they sold their 'mother' for personal agendas. I don't think 'these MAOISTS/ Naxalites are any different. Under the garb of alleviating the sufferings of TRIBAL people, they are buying arms---expensive and sophisticated arms----they have extorted more than 1500 crores. Couldn't they use this money for Tribal welfare. But no, they have a different agenda when they buy guns---machine guns and rocket launchers. Tthey have their own political agendas at the behest of their Foreign Masters. I need not name them. the TRIBAL PEOPLE's CAUSE IS A FACADE TO COVER THEIR EVIL DESIGNS.

This India causes ripples in my stomach, when I hear sympathetic voices from educated and well-informed people, who deliberately ignore the real menace. What should I do? Rather , what should most of other India do? Should we keep crying, loudly and immobilise ourselves mentally and physically? Do you think the world would sympathise with us? I doubt it. They would only write an obituary for the INDIA which Sashi Tharoor describes and I feel proud about. Therefore, an inner voice tells me----Move on Buddy----world is not for those who cry and shed tears-----it is a sign of weakness. We must take our each pitfall with great determination to overcome such inadequacies in our basic structure. This is what makes nations great. History wears testimony that those who move and grow they attain glory and fame and those who stagnate in the past are bound to decay and be lost to history.

Therefore, what do I take from 'Dantewada'? To me, 'Dantewada tragedy' of April 6 ,2010 is part of history. A lot of postmortem has been done by every Tom, Dick and Harry. I feel there was no use finding faults and looking over our shoulders to peep into the past. Dantewada tragedy and so called neglect cum exploitation of tribal people is as much a part of the failure of the political leadership to deliver 'on- purpose' as it was a common man's plight in rest of India. Reasons are not far to seek. Here is jsut a sample of what has gone wrong with our polity:-

>>>>>>>>>>>“I landed in a situation where all pillars of democracy - executive, legislature and judiciary - besides the fourth estate, media, failed to get a genuine grievance of people redressed. So I find no use in continuing in my office where much junior officials with a controversial service track record but strong political support don’t care two hoots for the system,” rues JS Bir, who till recently was Commissioner, Patiala Division>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

This conscientious IAS officer of 1989 batch resigned on April 13,2010 because he felt there was nothing known as GOVERNANCE in this country. As a commissioner of a Patiala Division in Punjab, he could not redress a small grievance of the of residence of a colony in Mohali to prevent a private bus company, 'ORBIT' from parking its buses in the parks of the colony. Reasons are not far to seek because the owner is a very powerful man of Punjab.

The question which now begs our mind is : Should JS BIR and the RESIDENTS of this colony in Mohali pick up arms and slaughter everyone who has denied them justice ? This involves politicians, bureaucracy, power brokers, judiciary and company employees including drivers, conductors and the daily commuters. Should you allow and approve this then, everyone in India should be slaughtering everyone else? I want my friends who sympathise with MAOISTS/ NAXALITES on the plea that tribal people have been neglected and exploited need to ponder over this. My humble submission is : LET US NOT MIX THE TWO ISSUES i.e. VIOLENCE and GRIEVANCES. Vilolence can only get violence , whether by the state or the opposing parties like 'RANBIR SENA' or "LAL SENA' in Bihar. There is a social war. Continue with it and let others exploit you or think about it and abjure violence. Follow the civilised way to protest as has been done by JS BIR. I will tell you , he has created a political explosion in Punjab and its impact would be seen in the next elections.

The lesson dear RAJEE is : MAKE HISTORY BUT DON'T BECOME HISTOTY.

Therefore, I exhort my India to move on from Dantewada. WE SHALL OVERCOME. I remember I gave a motto to my Army Unit during my stint as Commanding Officer ---it was ' HAM HI JITENGE' ( WE ALONE SHALL WIN) . I believe in this destiny of India. The road to GREATNESS might be full of bumps, dead-ends, troughs, potholes and whatever but we would make it. " Hail India-----let India's SOFT POWER spread to the world and let the COSMIC MAN of 22nd Century look to India for guidance and leadership.
