O', DEAR WHEN YOU GROW UP !

O', my dear ‘Anaisha’, as soon as you were born-

With our shrieks of joy, hospital’s peace was torn;

I know as years go by and you begin to grow up,

Some queries in your mind would sure crop up:

As to whether your father was really excited?

Or, if your mother was gleefully delighted?

Did your grand-parents, say,"Welcome, dear"-

Or baby girl's arrival made them shed tears?

Let me assure that you were eagerly awaited-

Parents and grand-parents were highly elated;

But you surprised us by barging in without a clue-

Twenty six days in advance, before you were due;

In a sudden move, you had-your-mother in pain;

While doctors struggled, everyone was strained;

Tension gripped us all,till you breathed fresh air --

On the tenth day of June 2010, you were there.

You were born far away from the shores of your native land,

Now San Francisco would benefit from your pan-India brand;

I do feel your beauty would make waves in times to come,

Your disarming charms would make big and mighty numb;

As you attain glory and fame, your parents would, sure, grin-

No doubts, you would be the cynosure of all your kith and kin;

It is by you that your parents would now realize their dreams,

You would be their future, as they travel through life up-stream.

May god bless you and give you all what you desire in your life;

May you succeed in everything you do, without strain and strife!

We wish you attain, what none could do before you came to the earth,

We wish you to do what invariably becomes a symbol of human mirth;

Let you be the pillar of knowledge that supports the human diversity-

Let you be that beacon of light which guides everyone through adversity;

I,your maternal grandfather,wish you a life full of moments pristine,

May,Anaisha,develop the confidence to hold her own in uncertain times!
