LADY SAMURAIs--THE SPOILSPORTS !

'Sulekha' is swarmed by lady samurasi,

On the drop of a hat who pick up a fight;

Small minds often raise hue and cry-

These spoilsports of Sulekha often stultify.

Some are the mothers of all controversies-

Their conduct and language have no decency;

Hatred and jealousy are their inborn traits ----

Like Sumo wrestlers their ego puts on weight.

There are some who are smart operators,

Most often they appear as commentators;

Lurking behind they add fuel to the fire--

Lacking creativity no blog they ever inspire .

AR, SK, JD, DM and SMT, are some of the names,

Joined by JJ and GzL, they put sulekha on flames,

Haggard and disgusted, 'YC' had to raise his hands,

As 'EYC', like 'Saraswati', disappears in sulekha sands.

These lines I write for the historians of posterity-

Who ought to know how EYC became a casuality;

A calculated move by the pentagon of lady samurais-

Saw their hold declining on' EYC', by new rules implied.

Perhaps it was not so, Yash had tried to explain,

"Who are you" thundered one with great disdain ?

Then all hell broke lose and free for all began,

Decency was thrown to winds with all chivalry san.

Appears, then, one samurai on Sulekha plains,

"I told you so, I told you so" was her great refrain;

Shocked and disgusted 'YC" decided to leave --

His baby 'EYC' , thus, went to eternal sleep.

This was reckoned on sulekha a greatest crash,

But no one could fathom the cause of act so brash;

''CL" found the' black box' and brought out the truth-

All males were shocked how ladies can be uncouth.

DANTEWADA---COLD BLOODED MURDERS BY OUR 'INNOCENT' BOYS!

Just yesterday, on May 17, 2010, a bus laden with 36 Security men, special police offcicers to be precise , was blown to pieces by the Maoists in Dantewada district of Chhatisgarh. This was a cold blooded mass murder. Maoists know as much as the general public that SPOs were unarmed and untrained persons, who move around with only sticks. Therefore, blowing up their bus was no big deal. Even a group of high school children could do this. But it clearly lays bare the SATANIC WAYS of MAOISTS/NAXALITES --- WHOSE CONCERN FOR THE COMMON MAN IS ONLY COSMETIC. All those who plead for the MAOISTS/ NAXALITES ought to understand this SATANIC MIND. This follows the tragedy of May 8, 2010 when eight policemen were hacked by Maoists. Of course, you just can not forget the Maoists mayhem in April 2010, when 75 men of 62 CRPF Battalion were mercilessly mowed down by Maoists butchers----nay----I am wrong------Not 'Maoist butchers' but our 'innocent boys'. Well ! our peace makers wish: Ignore this killing because after all the 'killers' are own people-----why do you say they are 'enemy'.
I wonder why don't the judges of Indian courts think like this when they try out murder cases? Shouldn't they be saying, " Oh, the murderer/killer ought to be acquitted- after all ---he was our own country man". How simple will become our laws ! Just acquit everyone involved in any crime. Supreme court can easily dispose off enmasse all those pending judicial cases in one stroke. We will have a wonderful record of ' no- pending court cases'. This record can, then, make its way to Guinea's Book of world records. What an honour it will be for our nation! Afterall we are a nation of records-conscious people.
India is unique. Yuvraj Singh, the cricketer, will remain a hero till eternity because of his SIX SIXES record in one over. It does not matter now if he is the personification of' DUCKS' ever since then. Of course forget his shameless act of having a brawl in an eating joint recently in the West Indies----just after India disgracefully lost to Sri Lanka! It is the privilege of our celebrities to celebrate defeats! What a strange people we are? We miss the woods for trees or it is the other way around----whatever----- But we are a special specimen of human beings only to be found in India.
Murders and kiling of men of the security forces does not trouble the conscience of Indian peace makers, leftist Intellectuals and of course self-styled spokesmen of the tribals. You know why? Because the nation says, in one voice, " What is the big deal----they are paid to die". So, the men of the security forces, whether, military, paramilitary or Central police force or even the poor police men are mere guinea pigs according to Maoists/ Naxalite apologists. You don't believe me just follow the blabbering and utterances of that great intellectual Dig Vijay Singh of Congress making waves on this count. People like Dig Vijay Singh of Congress , nay ruling UPA, and many of my highly rated Sulekha friends think that such killings were necessary to undo half a century of exploitation and injustice. WHAT A SENSE OF JUSTICE ! God bless this country.
Have you fogotten the Delhi blasts in 2008 and Batla House encounter? Poor police inspector Sharma gave his life in trying to nab the blast suspects. In comes Mulayam Singh and Amar Singh to say it was a fake encounter. The boys killed and nabbed were innocent . Why?, They, all belonged to AZAMGARH------ the home town of Sh. Amar Singh. It is the same town which produced guys like Abu Salem and many more hit men of great Indian underworld? Wow! What revelations they were by Mulayam Singh Yadav and the great Amar Singh. Now Digi Raja, oh, our dear Dig Vijay Singh, the new MESSIAH of Indian Muslims, is singing the same tune. I sometimes feel that God must be on some kind of leave when Indian politicians were being created. Why? Oh, because our politicians have not been stuffed with the brain. They majestically step into the fields ---they have no idea about its lay out and contents.
Some times back while writing for "Defence And Secirity Alerts" magazine , I had said while breaking 'rocks', if you would use a WOODEN HAMMER----the hammer would break. The article now appears in the May 2010 issue of DSA magazine. The article is titled, " Dantewada Massacre; End Game Imperative". I had recommended in the said article that the Maoists must be treated as 'enemy of the state' and dealt with accordingly. Unless you do this, the MAOISTS WILL CONTINUE TO DEMORALIZE YOUR SECURITY FORCES----to an extent that your nationhood will be endangered. Here is the link:-
http://www.dsalert.org/TopStories.aspx?TopStoryId=38
I sometimes wonder why our politicians and intellectuals were so insensitive to the unwanted killing of our security men? After all, it was because of the security men, who die that our politicians, academicians, intellectuals , businessmen, scientists, lawyers and many of these 'human rights activists' can relax in their air conditioned rooms and make their enchanting utterances----so pleasing to to the ears of perpetrators of violence and killings. I think the reason for their insensitivity was that these 'cowards' have nothing to fear from the poor members of security forces. They can be used as gun-fodder for the comforts of these thick skinned specimen of humanity.
Criticism is all right but the DEATH must evoke some sympathy----but I find 'Mamtas' of Indian politics are only interested in the municipal elections of their states and NOT in the tragedies like the stampede on the Delhi Metro station. She coolly dismissed the whole episode very lightly----"such incidents can not be prevented". Do you have any answer for the behaviour of such unconcerned politicians and our so called intellectuals? One of my friends says that the basic reason was that NONE OF THE SONS/DAUGHTERS---KITH and KIN of these people die in such mishaps, whether on the railway station of Delhi or the jungles of MAOISTS infested areas of Chhatisgarh or even the mountains of Kashmir. So, the answer---------? To become a politician, make it compulsory for the aspirants to send their minimum one close relative, preferably son, to join security forces to fight the militants/ Maoists. If the queen of England and Prime Minister (Margret Thatcher---if you remember) of England can do , why not them? Let one or two human right activists have their son or a close relative be killed every month for them to feel the treacherous agony the commom man faces. What says thou?

NEW YORK BOMBING CASE-- UNANSWERED QUESTIONS----IS SOMETHING FISHY?

I have a lurking suspicion that there was something fishy about this New york TIME SQUARE episode of May 1,2010. What is seen on the surface by the naked eye might not be the real TRUTH----there is something beneath the surface. There are large number of questions which go abegging on the genuineness of this episode. Here are some facts:-

----As the news of failed bombing broke out----it was claimed that TTP has owned responsibility. But TTP denied having done so---it even denies knowing him. Then, who made this claim? Who had received this alleged call from TTP? Or Was it deliberately attributed to TTP? Was it done by some vested interests? Here is the link for TTP denial:

http://www.dawn.com/wps/wcm/connect/dawn-content-library/dawn/the-newspaper/front-page/taliban-deny-training-faisal-750

-Now US administration is going ga-ga over the issue that FAISAL SHAHZAD was a 'lone wolf'. USA seems to be under playing the Pakistan connection of FAISAL. US Assistant Secretary of State Philip Crowley has said:-

-----------------"I’m not going to entertain a question that implicates one country, and to suggest that all terrorism in the world is the responsibility of one country. That’s not true,” said Mr Crowley. Here is the link:-

http://www.dawn.com/wps/wcm/connect/dawn-content-library/dawn/the-newspaper/front-page/us-tones-down-tirade-against-pakistan-750

-Same goes for US military-------Military men too are underplaying. Read what General David Petraeus, US Commander in Iraq-Afghanistan, has to say:-

http://www.dawn.com/wps/wcm/connect/dawn-content-library/dawn/the-newspaper/front-page/shahzad-a-lone-wolf-petraeus-850

What is the compulsion to do so? Why are they all claiming now that he was alone? If US authorities think he was alone and acted on his own, then, what is FBI team doing in Pakistan? What is it investigating? Is it someone's guilty conscious trying to undo the 'blow- back- effect' on Pakistanis living in USA----something like what happened in the aftermath of 9/11? There are reports that Pakistani children are avoiding schools and some Pakistanis are MASKING THEMSELVES as INDIANS. It seems there are attempts to control the damage which might occur to ORDINARY PAKISTANIS due to the UNWANTED HYPE given to this episode-----which actually might NOT BE THE REAL TRUTH. Therefore someone's guilty conscious is now trying to avert the disaster which might strike poor Pakistanis in USA. Read this report:-

---------- http://www.dawn.com/wps/wcm/connect/dawn-content-library/dawn/news/world/16-pakistanis+pose+as+indians+after+ny+bomb+scare-hs-01------

----Now some of the basic grey areas in FAISAL's failed BOMBING attempt which suggests that it might have been a well planned drama :-

------The episode took place on May 01, 2010---Saturday------he was arrested on May 03, 2010-----He was identified----pinpointed-----vehicle deal was checked----PHOTO extracted from ORKUT-----PUT on "NO FLY" list------all done in a COMPUTERIZED efficiency. It gives an impression as if FBI had all this information prior to the incident. What an efficiency?I am a bit skeptical.

----Why did not the bomb go off? Why did it malfunction? He is an educated fellow---supposedly, trained over five months----How can he goof up? Or was it designed to happen like this?

----Why did he stay back in USA for 48 hours after the incident? Was he orchestrating his arrest? He should have planned his exit along with the bombing, as most of the terrorists do----why didn't he do it ? He should have known that HOMELAND security would come HAMMER & TONG on him. How could he ignore these issues if he were a MBA?

----How quickly the clues were picked up, analysed and the FBI honed on to him so easily----The ease with which he was tracked with the photo and clues seems to be unconvincing of the efficiency of FBI----it took them 4 to 6 months to unravel the mystery of 9/11 attackers.

-----UAE Airlines had warned them of Faisal's boarding of the aircraft ---- but why was he allowed to board if he were in the "NO FLY" list? Biggest surprise, therefore, is that AIRLINE identified him as "NO-FLY" man but allowed him to board the aircraft-----was it part of the drama?

----The bomber had got US citizenship in April 2009 because of an American wife---- Immediately after this he left the job. Then in July 2009, just two moths after this, he went to Pakistan with his family-- Wasn't it planned?-- He returned alone after five months in Feb 2010-----Why did he come back alone? Why did he leave his family behind--- Aren't they AMERICAN CITIZENS ?. Was it to give the impression that he wanted to play safe with his family?

-----How was his wife an AMERICAN CITIZEN, when her father lives in Pakistan? When did she get the citizenship? Was she naturalized or a US born citizen? Observers say that his wife HUMA stayed in Colorado. She didn't speak English either with Neighbors (though she knew it). It was out of 'hesitation'. The couple maintained true Islamic style of living. Marrying this lady gave citizenship rights to this Faisal. The question is how did she herself get American citizenship when her whole family lives in Pakistan ?-----Or had the family shifted to Pakistan recently? Where are Faisal's wife and Kids staying ? Why were his wife and children----Supposedly, AMERICAN CITIZENS----- staying back in Pakistan ?-----or were they OVERSTAYING-? What is the mystery?

----Faisal left behind a trail of easy clues for FBI to so easily trail him----the vehicle number----the photo on Orkut---UAE airline alerting homeland security but still allowing him to board the air craft----his dramatized arrest with two other guys------all seem a HOLLYWOOD MOVIE STUFF.

To me the whole episode seems an orchestrated and well- managed one- act play, scripted and directed by some intelligence agency to plant FAISAL as a MOLE in the TTP. He must have been cultivated through his marriage to HUMA----whose American Citizenship seems to be a 'Buy-off' because her parents are Pakistani citizens. They lived in Colorado------it has now been conveyed by local media in Colorado that FBI was on FAISAL's trail for months----If so, why was US citizenship given to him in the first place? Is it that suspicion fell on him after he got citizenship in APRIL 2009? But he had left USA in July 2009. What happened in those two months that he became a suspect? Was he on some kind of an exploratory mission by some intelligence agency to create an impression of his TTP links during this period. Something fishy here. The whole episode seems to be concocted one.

What about his wife and children in Pakistan? No news----were they to facilitate his alleged links with TTP. The question arises : WAS HE BEING INDUCTED AS A MOLE IN TTP? Just think of this.

BREAKING NEWS----THE WORLD SHALL END ON DECEMBER 21, 2010*

I just received this document through clandestine means.

The information provided in this document is horrifying. It will make you cry in despair. Despite all the scientific progress, it establishes the helplessness of the mankind.

You know the real reason for BH Obama to hold the summit of world leaders from 44 countries was not on 'Nuclear Proliferation' but a top secret report prepared by a group of top scientists working in an organisation, called 'Future Vision'.

The report is really disturbing-----those who are heart patients and possess a weak heart should not read beyond this.

Reading from the report President B H Obama of USA said, "------Ladies and Gentlemen, I have gathered you here not to cry about the ongoing Nuclear proliferation----But proliferation or no proliferation, whether we use WMD or not, it is immaterial , because the world shall, in any case, end on Dec 21, 2012.---------This is the conclusion by the group of FUTURE VISION scientists who were carrying out research on this at Geneva. To be very frank, UN sponsored CREN experiment on BIG BANG theory was actually tasked to find out the age of this earth. while the universe is expanding our earth is contracting. It has now been concluded by the scientists that our earth shall implode on the said date laid down by Mayan calender----it is neither a myth nor a joke--------'

Thereafter, President OBAMA advised all the world leaders to go back to their countries to prepare them for a smooth march into oblivion. President Obama further said, " I don't care, if you still want to have NUCLEAR WEAPONS ----Go ahead and produce------all of us will die with them-------I don't care if you don't want to control your radicals and fundamentalis or religious fanatics------all of them would be blown into smithereens on 21 Dec 2012. Therefore, whoever want central role in Afghanistan and Iraq---go and have it----I want my soldiers out ----because I want them to be with their families, when the day of reckoning comes--------------------". I have this full speech of Obama with me along with the report by 'FUTURE VISION ' group, headed by Dr. Roger William Espandau, an astro-physicist from Brazil.

If you read the 233 page document, it tells you that the actual process had begun in the year 2003-----when global warming was first takren seriously and the effect of climate changes was recognised. The document highlights that the worst period would start from 2010 through 2012. It says that in 2010, there would be series of mind boggling earth quakes all over the world, followed by Volcano erruptions in unheard places like Iceland (even before the summit could end---there was a volcano erruption in Iceland-----sending thousands of million tons of ash into the atmosphere); rising temperatures all over the globe and melting glaciers causing flods and deluges.

The chapter on earth's implosion says the real cause of the increasing frequency of earth quakes was the hollowing out of the inner core of the earth due to construction and mining activity. The inner core was being denuded through mining of coal, precious metal, crude oil, stone such as marble and granite. Due to this the earth's plates keep shifting leading to earth quakes. It had predicted YUSHU earth quake in Tibet in July 2010 due to moving of the Indian plate north ward. But the earth quake has taken place three months in advance. similarly series of earth quakes have been predicted in South America, Asia and Africa. All this will cause havoc in the earth.

Talking about the actual implosion, the document says that it might happen any day between Dec 16, 2012 and Dec 21, 2012. But before this a giant meteorite is supposed to hit the earth around 12 July 2012. It would be in the Indian ocean around Maldives islands. It would destabilise the earth's motions and it would move it out of its axial allignment. This would lead to violent earth movements making it somersault in the air. The end would come around third week of December 2012.

High time to be closer to your near and dear ones. Those who believe in Karmic theory and God should make prayers for smooth move into anotherttype of life on some other celestial body. It is believed NASA has plans to send some human genes to MARS this year in Dec2010. President Obama has cleared this multi-billion dollar mission to Mars. There are also plans of USA and NASA to populate moon and colonise it in next two years.God bless us all.

Note: If you want to read this document---Please give me your E Mail address----I will forward you.

ROAD FROM DANTEWADA---INDIA MAKE HISTORY BUT DO NOT BECOME HISTORY!

There are two faces of India for the world to see. One which shows itself up, off and on at Dantewada 6/4 or Mumbai 9/11 and such like events with repititive periodicity. The other which Shashi Tharoor, MOS for External Affairs of the Union of India, talks about---the spread of India's 'soft power' world wide----the vibrant India----whose wonder boys of IT are making waves everywhere-----the 'cultural India' which brings trouble- torn Afghanistan to virtual stand- still in the evenings between 2030 hours to 2130 hours because the Afghanistan 's TOLO TV broadcastes an Indian telly serial 'SAAS BHI KABHI BAHU THII' (MOTHER-IN -LAW WAS ALSO A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW ONCE), dubbed in DRI language. It is this India which makes an old woman in SENEGAL to travel a distance of 50 kMs from her village to DAKAR, the capital of Senegal, every sunday just to see a HINDI movie, of which she does not understand a word.

It is the India of AR REHMAN which makes the world dance to his tunes of "JAI HO". It is the India of Sushmita Sen, Aishwariya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Lara dutta, Yogita Mukhi, Diya Mirza and many more such beauties. It is the india of Filmstar nights in Dubai and Middle East which makes Arabs hum Bollywood songs with great aplomb. It is India which boasts of a culture of 5000 years or even more. It is the India who was known for tolerance, peaceful co-existence, non-violence and ethical moralities. It is India which embraced all invaders and traders in her lap and gave them a unique character of being a proud Indian, who never desired to go back to their places of origin. It is the India, which gave the message of ' RAGHU KUL REET SADA CHALI AAYI, PRAN JAYE PAR VACHAN NAA JAAYE' ( IT IS THE TRADITION OF 'RAGHU' DYNASTY THAT THEY WOULD SACRIFICE THEIR LIVES BUT PROMISES THEY WOULD KEEP). This India makes me proud.

But other 'India of Dantewada' makes me sick and remoarse. It reminds me of the treachery of 'Mir Jaffars' , Jai Chand Rathaurs and that RAW officer RAVINDER SINGH. They sold their India for , should I say, a fistful of 'silver coins'. I think it would be appropriate if I say that they sold their 'mother' for personal agendas. I don't think 'these MAOISTS/ Naxalites are any different. Under the garb of alleviating the sufferings of TRIBAL people, they are buying arms---expensive and sophisticated arms----they have extorted more than 1500 crores. Couldn't they use this money for Tribal welfare. But no, they have a different agenda when they buy guns---machine guns and rocket launchers. Tthey have their own political agendas at the behest of their Foreign Masters. I need not name them. the TRIBAL PEOPLE's CAUSE IS A FACADE TO COVER THEIR EVIL DESIGNS.

This India causes ripples in my stomach, when I hear sympathetic voices from educated and well-informed people, who deliberately ignore the real menace. What should I do? Rather , what should most of other India do? Should we keep crying, loudly and immobilise ourselves mentally and physically? Do you think the world would sympathise with us? I doubt it. They would only write an obituary for the INDIA which Sashi Tharoor describes and I feel proud about. Therefore, an inner voice tells me----Move on Buddy----world is not for those who cry and shed tears-----it is a sign of weakness. We must take our each pitfall with great determination to overcome such inadequacies in our basic structure. This is what makes nations great. History wears testimony that those who move and grow they attain glory and fame and those who stagnate in the past are bound to decay and be lost to history.

Therefore, what do I take from 'Dantewada'? To me, 'Dantewada tragedy' of April 6 ,2010 is part of history. A lot of postmortem has been done by every Tom, Dick and Harry. I feel there was no use finding faults and looking over our shoulders to peep into the past. Dantewada tragedy and so called neglect cum exploitation of tribal people is as much a part of the failure of the political leadership to deliver 'on- purpose' as it was a common man's plight in rest of India. Reasons are not far to seek. Here is jsut a sample of what has gone wrong with our polity:-

>>>>>>>>>>>“I landed in a situation where all pillars of democracy - executive, legislature and judiciary - besides the fourth estate, media, failed to get a genuine grievance of people redressed. So I find no use in continuing in my office where much junior officials with a controversial service track record but strong political support don’t care two hoots for the system,” rues JS Bir, who till recently was Commissioner, Patiala Division>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

This conscientious IAS officer of 1989 batch resigned on April 13,2010 because he felt there was nothing known as GOVERNANCE in this country. As a commissioner of a Patiala Division in Punjab, he could not redress a small grievance of the of residence of a colony in Mohali to prevent a private bus company, 'ORBIT' from parking its buses in the parks of the colony. Reasons are not far to seek because the owner is a very powerful man of Punjab.

The question which now begs our mind is : Should JS BIR and the RESIDENTS of this colony in Mohali pick up arms and slaughter everyone who has denied them justice ? This involves politicians, bureaucracy, power brokers, judiciary and company employees including drivers, conductors and the daily commuters. Should you allow and approve this then, everyone in India should be slaughtering everyone else? I want my friends who sympathise with MAOISTS/ NAXALITES on the plea that tribal people have been neglected and exploited need to ponder over this. My humble submission is : LET US NOT MIX THE TWO ISSUES i.e. VIOLENCE and GRIEVANCES. Vilolence can only get violence , whether by the state or the opposing parties like 'RANBIR SENA' or "LAL SENA' in Bihar. There is a social war. Continue with it and let others exploit you or think about it and abjure violence. Follow the civilised way to protest as has been done by JS BIR. I will tell you , he has created a political explosion in Punjab and its impact would be seen in the next elections.

The lesson dear RAJEE is : MAKE HISTORY BUT DON'T BECOME HISTOTY.

Therefore, I exhort my India to move on from Dantewada. WE SHALL OVERCOME. I remember I gave a motto to my Army Unit during my stint as Commanding Officer ---it was ' HAM HI JITENGE' ( WE ALONE SHALL WIN) . I believe in this destiny of India. The road to GREATNESS might be full of bumps, dead-ends, troughs, potholes and whatever but we would make it. " Hail India-----let India's SOFT POWER spread to the world and let the COSMIC MAN of 22nd Century look to India for guidance and leadership.

YOUNGISTAN's EMERGING CULTURE---A N ANECDOTE!

"Hullo, suresh, how are you son?" I said to the youngman sitting in the drawing room.

"Sorry Uncle, I am not Suresh, I am Aman----Aman Randhawa", the youngman replied.

"Oh, so you must be Suresh's friend---I 'm sorry I thought you were Suresh because I am visiting this house after so many years" I clarified.

"You are again wrong, uncle, He is not suresh 's friend but my 'boy friend", so said Anita, emerging from the kitchen with two cups of coffee.

"What? what ? What?" I was flabbergasted and speechless.

"why are you so stunned, uncle? Is there something wrong?" Anita was now quizzing me.

"No, No, nothing wrong dear. I was just wondering if I were in my village or some metro or something?" I said with a lot of hesitation and guarded caution.

" Forget, it Rajwinder, you left the village in 1964. The clock time stands there still for you. Well! the times have changed. ", This was my childhood friend Principal Kanwal Sood, who made his appearance from another room. He had heard my conversation with Aman and Anita.

"Oh, how are you , Kanwal? Yaar, I was here in Kathgarh for a few days, I thought of meeting you. I was told you have retired and settled down in the village." I said to my friend, Kanwal.

"Anita is my daughter. She is doing B.Tech in electronics at Rayat College of Engineering , Ropar. Aman is her classmate and friend. My son Suresh, whom you saw as a two years old child back in 1980, when I was just a science teacher, is now in Texas, USA---a software engineer with HCL. He has a five years old son. " Kanwal gave the introductory talk.

"Kanwal, don't take me wrong, but I am a bit rattled---not that I don't like it but I was stunned to see such a culture having had reached the villages , too. You could say I did not expect such open display of friendship between a girl and a boy, right in front of the girl's parents. you see I am totally disoriented" i managed to explain my mental condition.

"Yes, uncle, You said it. You are disoriented because you think village boys and girls are 'mere 'dumbos', as they might have been in your times in the late sixties, Right, Dad" Anita said in a flustered tone. I didn't know whether she was irritated or explaining the difference in 'my times' or 'her times'.

"I am sorry, Anita. But I am a bit culturally shocked to see such a scene in a village. Perhaps in a city I won't have paid attention to such a phenomenon" I explained.

"That's right, uncle. Time for you stands still in 1964. You will see things with those eyes only. How sad , you have not changed even after 46 years of traveling around India" It was Aman who was now giving me lecture.

" You are getting me wrong. I have not said that I did not like it or so. I was just wondering as to how fast things have changed culturally. You remember Kanwal-------" I now began to delve into my times.

"Yes, yes, I remember those days. Are you talking of Onkar and Darshna's case?" Kanwal sood had said.

"Yea, I remember, Onkar and Darshna loved each other. One day Onkar was seen talking to Darshna by her uncle.----then-------"

" All hell broke lose. Matter came up before village Panchayat. The punishment for Onkar was to blacken his face, make him sit on a donkey and take him around the village in a procession." I brought out.

"Yea, it was bad. We were small kids, then. We too shouted slogans against Onkar, as told by village elders." Kanwal substantiated.

" Remember that funny slogan-----"JISNE BURI NAZAR 'BEHNO' PE DAALA; USKA MOONH HOGA JIYON KAALA ( Anyone who had evil designs on village damsels, his face will be blackened like this)-------All of us were shouting such like slogans----we were in 3rd or 4th standard then before I left the village to study at Jalandhar." I further added.

" And why do you forget your own case? You were attracted to that girl Rupinder. You were a commissioned officer, then. It was in early 70s. I was a science teacher in the school. I used to be the courier for exchange of letters between you and her. You remember that----or forgotten" now Kanwal was getting personal.

" Oh forget it Kanwal. Why are you raking up dead stories? "I tried to side track the issue.

" This is your problem, uncle. Your was a confused generation-----just born after independence----the ' slave-blood ' ran in your veins. You were too meek and submissive to openly announce your friendship with the opposite sex" Aman was now attacking.

"No son, those were different times. Our social upbringing was different. we did not have these 'Valentine's' days-----ARRE KYA BOLTA HAI ------EVEN IN THE HINDI MOVIES IT WAS A TABOO TO SHOW A KISS SCENE----( Hey what do you say------EVEN--------). Remember , Kanwal when your elder sister had joined this boys school in the 9th class----how your uncles had violently objected " I was trying to explain the difference.

"Are, Rajwinder, forget my sister's case------- that was in the mid sixties. Remember, your own younger sister, Damyanti, whom you got her admission in Post graduation in Kanya Maha Vidyalya (KMV) Jalandher---It was in the 70's ---your family was almost thrown out by your community. Then, as a Captain you took the stand and bullied your way through. I remember you had fought with your uncles ----you threatened them of dire consequences----I remember you were prepared to shoot those who talked ill of your family----later, everyone forgot and Damayanti did very well in her post graduation. where she is now?" " Kanwal brought in another incident.

"Oh, she is fine . " I just accepted his version, though it was not entirely true.

" Don't tell me things used to be so bad----were your people so primitive?" It was Anita's turn to jeer us.

" No, No Anita, social structure changes with every generation. We did not have exposure like you. We did not have Mobiles---we did not have TVs------co-education was also very rare----Girls and boys hardly met so openly. It was not a bad society at all. Its values and ethos suited those times. Similarly I reckon, the atmosphere of SOCIAL GLASNOST AND SOCIAL PERESTROIKA suits your generation. This is what we call social GROWTH and development. Maybe the society of tomorrow might laugh at you and the institution of marriage----they might call MARRIAGE as SOCIAL SLAVERY of FEMALE GENDER. But your generation might still be getting into this bondage----while, for my generation, it was a sacred relationship. There was NO OPEN FLIRTING ONCE YOU WERE MARRIED. But in your time, you might accept OPEN FLIRTING OUTSIDE THE MARRIAGE" I got the opportunity to snub the young duo.

" Open Flirting Outside the Marriage? Yea, Rajwinder, you said it. To the modern youth, marriage is no more a sacred institution---It is a matter of convenient relationship as long as it could last. There are NO 'LAXMAN REKHAS' in the modern marriages which can not be crossed. " My friend Kanwal further elaborated.

"Dad, the point is that each generation sees things through its own prism and as such there can not be any meeting ground" Anita lashed out at us.

"I would like to disagree. There is always a start point from where you take off. Your and my PRISMS are same but our eyes have different 'lenses'. Anyway, let us note that changes are the symptoms of growth and growth is a continuous phenomenon. Anything which stops growing it dies down. Therefore, change is must. But can the change be anticipated or it happens automatically? I reckon, it is a self- activating phenomenon. You can not stop or control it but you can visualise the direction of change" I pointed out.

"So, what is change from you to us" Aman asked in an arrogant tone.

"Son, the difference is what my friend Rajwinder had experienced when he met you first time. In our times, if you had come and announced that you were the friend of Anita, You would have been lynched to death --probably even Anita would have suffered the same fate. " My friend Kanwal said in a very offensive tone.

I could see my friend was getting uncomfortable. I decided it was time to call of this conversation. I asked Kanwal to join me for dinner on April 13, 2010 ---the BAISAKHI DAY. I took his leave and was surprised at the sudden change of behaviour of Kanwal Sood. I wondered if he had accepted his daughter's friendship with Aman as some kind of compulsive adjustment or it was a total change in the attitude of village people's life. I had an uncanny feeling that he was slowly adjusting to this new environments to ensure peace in the family.

This is the new wave of Change hitting across Punjab' and Haryana villages. Inter caste love marriages are quiet common. The increased incidents of 'honour killing' in Punjab and Haryana bear testimony to this sweeping change taking place in the social climate of villages. Movies, TV and modern institute of education are changing the social landscape of the country side. The change is upon them. The judiciary, government and administration must ensure to make this change peaceful and harmonious. One thing is certain---CHANGE WOULD COME---NO ONE CAN STOP IT. Therefore do not cry for old social system which is being sent packing to the dustbin of history. Embrace the change lest you are 'future shocked' like me.

HINDU TERRORIST----SHORT STORY OF DISPLACED PERSONS

HINDU TERRORIST----SHORT STORY OF DISPLACED PERSONS

"------------ As I touched him, he half- opened his eyes and mumbled something like------ 'betrayed----I have been betrayed by fate once again------it was 'guru' who did it first time -------- Now it is some one who is an informer------ Naseem------- I did try to come back to you and explain------sorry----------- I couldn't make it and find out as to why did you forget me--------but I did remember you--------even after 45 years--------see you in next birth."

With thesse words he went silent. It seemed that he was dead. This brought an end to our operation. It had all started with a telephonic call from my Commanding officer (CO)-----------", so said the young army officer (around 20 years old) to me with a choked voice. I. had been posted as COL ADMINISTRATION of the Infantry Division for almost a year, then. It was April 1994 and we were near Ludhiana for collective training. I was checking up with him the details of a Court of Inquiry against him. His choked voice and tears in his eyes nudged me to hear his side of the story.

Time has come when I must share with you this story. He had narrated thus.

It was the wintry month of November 1992. I was posted at Amritsar (Punjab) along with my battalion. I am ex- NDA and had been commissironed in the army from Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, in December 1991. In those days, my battalion was involved in counter militancy operations in Ajnala block of Amritsar district. My battalion had a number of achievements to her name because of the meticulous way our unit had organised intelligence in our area of operations. We used to get minute to miute information: even if a fly moved in the area, we would know it. This was due to the untiring efforts of our Second In Command, Lieutenant Colonel, Iqbal Singh. He had his trusted informers in all villages around. Officers used to discuss that they were the 'moles'. I did not understand their significance then. But I had realised in a few months only that the intelligence and information was the key to counter-militancy operations. If the flow of 'actionable intelligence' was uninterrupted, your job was half done. It seems, being a local, Colonel Iqbal had created some moles amongst the terrorist organisations.

It was the middle of the night on 24 November 1992 when I got a call from my commanding officer, Col Beant Singh. He was almost hysterical, when he spoke,"Listen, Village Kathu Nagal, near Ajnala---five top khalistanis along with a retired ISI officer of Pak army have been spotted. There is a yellow house --double storey of Balkar Singh----they have taken shelter there. Go, get them. Make sure no one escapes------Your team is ready--- 'radio contro'l has been activated by adjutant----but maintain radio silence-----a back up team is led by Captain Rajat Sharma---he will be available to you at Ajnala road crossing. You tie up details of radio communications and code words with the Adjutant. This is a very important task-------police party, led by ASP Balwinder Singh, is ready to join----The informer is with them---he will guide you-----Get cracking------Make sure no one escapes--------I am available on call------Don't let us down------all the best".

I had no time to seek clarifications as the old man had kept the receiver down. This is the normal briefing we get in counter militancy operations. After 10 minutes or so, I met our adjutant in the office. He took just five minutes to further brief and introduce us to police party. Civil vehicles , two white maruti gypsies, two ambassador cars and one Maruti Zen,were placed at our disposal. I was to lead in Maruti zen and each other vehicle was to follow at an interval of three minutes. We were to assemble at a selected RV near a banyan tree some 500 meters away from the village. Thereafter, we were to move on foot to target area.

Within 25 flat minutes I was on the road to KathuNagal. By 1.30 AM we were on the house. Militants got alerted. Fire-fight started. The militants shot dead sepoy Jagat Pandey and Constable Sukhwinder Singh. We continued to make efforts to close on to the house. Captain Rajat sharma also joined us by 2 AM. Two more columns from the battalion were on the way to reinforce us.

Around, 3.30 AM there was a firing inside the house-----we heard some shouts. Then everything went silent. We waited half an hour. Fired some bullets into the house. There was no response. Captain Rajat sharma asked me to move into the house and check. We moved in with caution. As we entered one of the bed rooms, we saw five bullet-ridden bodies lying scattered. What surprised me was a badly wounded bearded old man with an AK-47 rifle in his hands. He could fire at us but he did not. He had probably fired and killed other militants. He was mumbling something, what I quoted above. He seemed to me a retired army officer of Pakistan army. On his left arm was a Muslim name engraved : AKbar Kassim. When I approached him I had not realised that he was still alive. But moment I touched him, he seemed to have collapsed.

I checked his pulse. He seemed to be dead------I searched his ruksack----found a few diaries and some old black and white photographs, badly soiled and almost disfigured. I scanned the diaries. Most of them were in Urdu and I couldn't make out a head or tail. Two of the diaries which interested me were written in English and pertained to the years 1947 and 1984. I kept these diaries with me. Rest of the documents were taken by the police and we moved back to the unit with great pride on the success of our operation, though it was courtesy the old man, masquerading as Akbar Kassim, that we had succeeded. Frankly speaking, but for him there could have been more than two fatal casualties, if other militants had continued to fight. But they were persumably silenced by the old man. I could not fathom his reason then, for, I was not interested, too.

Next day I took out the diaries and began to shuffle through through it----- I picked up the 1947 diary first----As I began to go through it, I was nudged to read on----it generated interest----it was written in English----I began to read the diary. It ran:-

******************************************************************************************************

"Will you remember me" She had suddenly shot this question.

I was stunned. I did not know why she had asked this question. I should have dismissed it as rubbish but I shot back," What makes you think otherwise?"

J

" No! No!! I really want to know what love is. " I asked Naseem.

" Oh really! You, Yavesh! You the topper of Punjab University of M A (Previous) in English literature, want to tell the world that he was cluless about love. And it seems both of us have been poodle faking for the last two years. Is that so, yavesh? " Naseem was angrry.

"Don't get cheesed off-----So you mean our poodle faking over the last two years is called love. A great definition , Naseem. Poodle faking is love-----and love is poodle faking-----wonderful, Naseem-----"

"Cut it out Yavesh and be serious---you know what is happening politically. There is a Hindu-Muslim divide and politicians say India would be partitioned into Hindu India and Muslim India. We are going to be two separate countries-------"

"Two separate countries----? Naseem,---Muslim India-----Yavesh, ------Hindu India. Do you mean this? what rubbish? What a tragedy it would be if it happens? Hold on----did you ask me if I would remember you or not because you feel we would get separated on religious lines? Oh, is love divisible, Naseem" I quizzed her.

" No, love is not divisible---it does not recognise human boundaries or definitions---it is a desire to possess something you like----yea , this is love-----the heart often transcends the man-made barriers of caste creed, religion, language and geography. " Naseem had replied.

"So if we aren't going to be separated, where is the question of forgetting and remembering each other when we are together----------"

"Yavesh-----------------"

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Next page it was wriiten----------

Today it is 22 February 1947. I had this interesting conversation with Naseem yesterday. She seems to have been worried for her parents who are in Jalandhar. I am going to talk to 'Guru' and his father Sardar Beant singh who are going to Jalandhar in April.

Thereafter some pages of the diary had been torn-----------------there were some scribbling in the last few pages of the diary.

*****************************************************************************************************

So this was the Naseem, Akbar Kassim, the old man had talked about before his death. The old man's story was getting weird. What was he doing looking for Naseem in India? Who was Yavesh? Was this old man Yavesh Kaushal of the diary? If he was Yavesh Kaushal, then what was he doing in Pakistan ----that too as an army officer---probably a retired Colonel Akbar Kassim? Mystery was deepening. Who was 'Guru'? Who was Sardar Beant Singh?

It really aroused my own interest because my own grand father and great grandfather had studied at Government college Lahore, around same time. My grand ma had told us that our grandfather Gurbbachan Singh had studied economics at the same coolege. He was a very brilliant student. My grand ma's name was Gurbachan Kaur.

I further read some hastily scribbled pages of the diary.----it went:-

******************************************************************************************************

. I married Naseem on 12 March 1947 before she left for Jalandhar to unite with her parents. There is no news of her since then. she has been away for almost over two months. There is communal tension all around. News comes daily of Hindu- Muslim riots in the villages around or killing of Hindus and Sikhs in our part of Punjab. They say India will be divided into two dominions i.e. India and Pakistan. India would be for Hindus and others and Pakistan for Muslims. So the 'whiteman' has played his trick----divided us on religious lines---He ruled us by dividing us----He has now created a religious gulf between us.

Today, it is june 13, 1947. There is no news of Naseem and her parents. I got a letter from 'Guru', my university friend, saying that Naseem and her parents had left Jalandhar and they were in a camp near Kartarpur village. He further stated that the camp has been set up to collect Muslims who were migrating to proposed Pakistan. Silly? Why should Naseem and her parents migrate? There ancestors had been living in Jalandhar for centuries. They belong to Jalandhar. It belongs to them. I fail to understand the logic. silly woman, she has not even written to me.

It is 14 August 1947. India stands partitioned Into India and Pakistan. It was encouraging to hear Sh. Mohammed Ali Jinnah on the radio. He said that Hindus were welcome to live in Pakistan. He assured that no discrimination would be against anyone because of religion. All Pakistanis were equal before law. It was a breath of fresh air, coming from the first Governor General of Pakistan. So we can live in Pakistan, without being second rate citizens. Why must I leave the place I was born----where my forefathers had their ashes merged with the soil?

It is 15 september 1947. There are Hindu -Muslim riots. People are killing each other. They say Muslims have been slaughtered in East Punjab. Same thing is happening here. Where are we heading? How about Naseem? Has she come to Pakistan? Where would she be? I must find out.

23 October 1947. My friend Ghulam Mohammed came today. He suggested that I along with other family members change our Hindu names to Muslim names for our own security and safety. I don't know what to do. If only Naseem and her parents were here. I consulted my mother and father. They, too, agreed because migration now was out of question. My father, Pundit Roshan Lal Kaushal, retired Tehsildar of Lahore, assured us that soon things would improve and then we could move out to India. We are living in model town Lahore. It is somewhat more safer than other localities of Lahore.

What a day December 18 1947 was? India and Pakistan are fighting a war over Kashmir. The relations have worsened. The day is a disaster for our family, too. My sister, Prem Lata, had eloped with my best friend, Ghulam Mohammed a fortnight back. They were probably in love. I did not know. They had got married. My father suffered a heart attack. He died of this at 1130 A.M, today. I can not carry out his last rites as per Hindu traditions because he had converted to ISLAM---on the face of it, all of us had converted, though not whole heartedly. My mother is insisting on his creamation according to Hindu rites. I can not do this. There are no Hindus around our locality anymore. I had to go for burrial as per Muslim traditions. My mother cursed me----well, I suppose I am destined to be cursed by fate , too. Naseem, where are you? I am a Muslim now----there will be no hassels now for your family to accept me.

29 December 1947. I get a letter from my friend 'Guru' in India. But, what is this?-----Just a two liner------It says-----Naseem was blessed with a male child on December 18, 1947? He says that the child was named Gurvinder Singh. I cry-----cry, cry, cry------Has my friend 'Guru' nay, Gurbachan Singh Singh ditched me? Did he forcibly marry Naseem? How did Naseem agree for this? Or could it be my son? 'Guru' might have married her to provide legitimacy. I don't know---I can not say anything----Oh, god, why are you so cruel to me?

It is January 17, 1948. I don't know for some strange reasons, I have been denied migration to india by the Government of India. They say my conversion has something to do with this. But I know it was my friend Ghulam Mohammed, husband of my sister Prem Lata, who is doing this. I have been told that he had joined the police as an deputy superintendent of police and was working as some sort of an intelligence officer. Prem Lata had hinted this when I had broached this subject of our migration. She had said that she won't allow us to do that..----Now what ------Mr Yavesh Kaushal----errrrrrrrr Akbar Kassim-----------what is your choice? You have no alternative but to stay on------forget Naseem---------forget her for ever----- My parents are dead-- My only sister is here----What would I do in Hindustan?-------- But, what do I do for my living?

******************************************************************************************************

There was no further entry in this diary. But one thing was clear. 'Guru' was Gurbachan Singh of Jalandhar. He had a son Gurvinder Singh born to Naseem. It was amusing because the names resembled my own father and grandfather. Was it a coincidence?

But we belonged to Pathankot. My grand mother, Gurbachan Kaur, had retired as a principle of a private school. Earlier our family was based at Ambala, where our grandfather was principle of a private College.

However, he, along with my father, was killed by unidentified persons in 1984. No one knows who was behind it. Todate, it remains a mystery. My mother and grandmother suspect it was the work of professional killers. Some say it was the job of some old students of my grandfather who were rusticated by him . Some even say that it was the the job of some militants. I can not really say because I was at school on that fateful day because of Independence day Celebrations, when, in the broad day light, the killers had struck at our home iin Mahesh Nagar, Ambala cantonement.

So, this resemblence of names seemed to me a pure coincidence. But the story of the old man, Akbar Kassim, nay Yavesh Kaushal, was getting into knotts. I opened up the second diary, pertaining to the year 1984 and started reading it.
The diary had begun with January 1, 1984. He had scribbled only on some days in English. Most of the pages were in Urdu. I later learnt that they were all full of love songs and poems. His entries ran thus :-

**************************************************************************************************************************

January 1984.

Yesterday, i.e. 31 December 1983, I, Akber Kassim, hung my uniform--I finally retired from Pakistan army. I served with dignity and I retired with honour. So what, if I did not become a General but I was a most respected half colonel. generals were scared of me because of my job. They are all rats. They are totally corrupt and ambitious who can sell their mothers for the next rank. Thankf God, mecifully I did not become a General to join their rat race. I am a self contented man.

But one thing remains------I have not completed my mission as yet------I have not been able to do ---the only thing I hated to do but I would do-------Inshallah---my chance will come. I will seek answers from her, one day, for betraying me.

March 1984.

It is my 37th wedding anniversary, the other day. But we have never been together except the first day of wedding in March 1947. She had left for Jalandhar in April 1947. Thereafter, she never contacted me----she married 'Guru' and gave birth to his son------She owes an explanation to me------Naseem----I will seek it from you----I will dig you out wherever you were hiding------------you will pay for ignoring me-----or may be ditching me.

June 1984

Indian army had surrounded the Golden Temple at Amritsar two days back. They used tanks and artillery guns. We expected Sikhs to rise in revolt. But they somehow managed to control it and the storm blew away. I am told Bhindranwale and Major General Ram shabeg Singh are dead along with many other Khalistanis.

I am out of communication with my own boys---Particularly Jashminder singh----Chief of Khalistan Tigers-----I must find out his plight-------He must stay alive to find out the whereabouts of Naseem and her family-----where did she disappear after they were last spotted in Chandigarh by Jashminder?------------Jashminder had done a neat job, thereafter.

July 1984

Two of my boys of Khalistan Tigers were killed in an encounter by police inTarn Tarn. No news of Jashminder---I have asked Shera----Sher Singh to assume command of the group. I have to motivate the boys to do better than other groups---Khalistan Commando Force and Khalistan Zindabad Force were doing much better.

August 1984

-------------------------------------------

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

As I turned the page s to read the entry of August 1984, I got a call from my CO, Col Beant Singh. As usual, he was crisp, "Listen youngman, your good work has been recognised by higher ups-----you get ready fast----a team of BBC TV and DOORDARSHAN is coming to interview you on this encounter. Tell them about that old man----that ISI handler of Militant groups----what's his neme Col Akbar Kassim-----Police has already given them some information-----find out and coordinate with the police. Tell them the truth but only as much as they ought to know----You understand what I mean

It was already 11 A.M. I got ready and reached the office. My 2IC was already waiting for me. He briefed me and rehearsed me. When he was fully sure of me, he escorted me to our officers Mess where the TV Channel jouHrnalists had already reached.

I was asked the details. Then, suddenly the BBC guy, shot back to me, "how do you say that he was an army officer of Pak army and of ISI?"

I said, " it is plainly apparent from his diaries"

" Which diaries----The diaries police has given us are in Urdu and they are full of urdu poetry-----some romantic poems in the memory of his beloved Naseem" the BBC interviewer was grilling me.

I don't know what happened----I suddenly pulled out one diary from my pocket and handed over to him, saying " This Diary------read the last entry". Of course, it was the diary that pertained to the year 1947.

" Have you read it?", he asked. I said, " yes".

"Anything interesting? " , he further asked.

Like a fool, without realising the implications, I said, " it seems his origional name is Yavesh Kaushal------he----" I could not complete my question because now there were eyebrows raised and smilingly BBC interviewer had remarked, " You mean a HINDU TERROIST".

" No, I did not mean that---I talked of his past" I replied.

" Or it could be another game to defame Pakistan --------------------"

" No, No---please ask only operational questions", my 2IC butted in .

" Thank you ---no more questions" said the interviewer and began to wind up.

My Second In Command was furious with anger. He asked me as to why did I not tell them about this mystery of Akbar Kassim. I told him that I had read the diary that morning only. But no one was listening to me----I was getting plastered from alll sides.

It was hell that day of 25th November 1992. My good name had been sullied by none but me. I came to my room and went to sleep. I got up at about 8 PM and glanced at other entries of the diary-----I was just shuffling when, I got a message from the mess that my mother wanted to speak to me. I rushed to the officer's mess. It was my mother on the other side.

" Navneet, are you OK?" My mother asked.

" Yes, mom, why have you rung up" I asked.

" Oh, I saw the Doordarshan News , where you had given an interview on the operation you had carried out in Kathu Nangal" My mother clarified.

" I see---It is OK---Don't worry" I told her.

" No, No speak to your grand mom", my mother said.

" Hullo, Navneet, you said this man Akbar Kassim was a Hindu---some Kaushal' she asked.

" Yes, grand ma------his diary said so----he was Yavesh kaushal---married to some Naseem---who seemingly ditched him" I replied.

" Oh, my god, he was Yavesh----you mean Yavesh Kaushal from Lahore------" grand Ma was almost hysterical.

" yes---yes grand ma------He was so. Did you know him? " I asked her.

" Know him ?----what ?---he was your Grand father-----real Grandfather----Gurvinder's father." she shocked me.

" I do not get you grand ma----Are you the NASEEM, he talked about.

" Yes, yes, -----you see------ me and Gurbachan never married-- Gurbachan, whom you called Grandpa, was a brother to me------------I had waited all these years for Yavesh---I had changed my name because Gurbachan had suggested to avoid the prying eyes of the society. People thought we were husband and wife but we were only brother and sister----Your father knew this.--------" grand ma began crying.

" Oh my god----don't worry grand ma---I will come and explain to you-----------"

I rushed to my room---------to read the second diary-----------

I read the entry in the month of August 1984-----It said:-

" 15 August 1984----------------Shera my Chief of Khalistan Tigers told me that he has taken my revenge. My friend Gurbachan Singh, alias GURU was knocked down along with his wretched son Gurvinder. Shera told me they pumped in some 33 bullets in their bodies. I have taken my revenge-----he deserved to be eliminated for having betrayed me----------"

"Oh my God----my father Gurvinder was killed at the behest of his own father----and my real grand father has been killed by his own grand son ?------What a travesty of fate? But what was the fault of Sardar Gurbachan Singh---a real do gooder--------------- ?" I began to wonder and decided to go home next day to console my grand mom.

Next day at 8 AM as I boarded the bus at Amritsar Bus Stand for Pathankot, I scanned an English news paper----The Tribune------" A HINDU TERRORIST FROM PAKISTAN------AN ISI agent----------" was screaming across the first page of the news paper. There was no need to read the story----I knew there would be all bumkum in it----for the real story was with me and I had no intention of telling others----It was a family tragedy for us.------------------------------ -J
