YEH DIL MAANGE MORE" ----- BASELESS CONTROVERSY !

Strange it is, that whatever Narender Modi says is lapped up by the media and his opponents. What about Sheikh Abdulla, who wanted to throw into the ocean, all those who vote for Modi? No case has been registered against him. CEC and state EC have gone into deep slumber, I suppose. What about "BAUKHALAYE HUE CHUHE" (Panicking rats) statement of Priyanka Vadra? Ever since , she has jumped into the fray, name calling has increased many folds.

I was listening to the debate on Times Now, on the night of April 29,2014. I heard people blasting NARENDER Modi for using these FOUR WORDS, "YEH DIL MAANGE MORE",attributed to Capt Vikram Batra, PVC of Kargil-99 Fame. Sorry , MAROOF RAZA, this time, I do not go along with you. You put up a very very emotional front but without substance. Maj Gen GD Bakshi and Col Anil KAUL were given a shut up call by Arnab Goswami, because their views were contrary to the official thinking of the anchor of Times Now, the man, who exploits people's emotions to increase his Channel's TRP.

To me, it was clear that an issue was being made out of a NON- ISSUE , with political intents. Congress was crying hoarse for nothing. Let me say , at the outset, reasoning given by AAP rep and Late Capt Vikram's father was atrocious. I say, even Col Vijayant Thapar was wide off the mark. Did they care to ask Arnab Goswami about the recent killing in J&K of an Army Major and a Jawan? Mrs Bhandarkar did raise the issue but she was snubbed by Arnab Goswami. This is the respect they pay to Martyrs. Vikram Batra is an issue because his mother is contesting elections on AAP ticket.

I question the very motives of his mother. Is the slogan of "JAI JAWAN; JAI KISAN" the sole property of LB Shastri family? When Atal Vihari added "JAI VIGYAN" to it, did he politicise it? In fact, he added value to it. When Narender Modi talked about YEH DIL MAANGE MORE, he revived the memories of Capt Vikram Batra----which everyone had forgotten, even his parents, whose sole criterion of getting AAP candidacy is the PVC of Vikram Batra. They did not think twice on AAP views on J&K.

I do not understand as to how was it politicization of a martyr? Is it because Vikram Batra's mother is contesting election on AAP ticket? It is shameful that Vikram's mother does not know about AAP views of refrendum on Kashmir and its terrorism, for which her son achieved martyrdom. If she knows , then why did she ignore it or it is just pure political ENCASHMENT of her Son's martyrdom? Asking Modi to not to put up a candidate against her, is a sheer example of politicalization. It is shameful that those who cry about politicalization are actually involved in it. Do we know how this quote was extracted out of Late Capt Vikram Batra? Had he been alive, he would have been in trouble for this?

I was in the thick of KARGIL FIASCO and I know the inside stories. Let me make an observation : KARGIL WAS RETRIEVED FROM PAKISTANI INTRUDERS NOT BECAUSE OF GALLANT EFFORTS OF INDIAN ARMY GENERALS BUT BY THE MASTER STROKE OF " GENERAL BILL CLINTON" , WHO EAR TWISTED NAWAZ SHARIEF LIKE A SCHOOL STUDENT. You must know that terrain in KARGIL is such that there was a TIGER HILL every 500 meters over a front of 150kms by 10 KMs. Indian army would have taken decades to clear it with massive casualties.

Indian Generals had committed a blunder in vacating these posts in winters of 1998 and Pakistan Army clandestinely occupied it slowly. In 97-98 winters, Kargil Brigade was depleted by one battalion from FOUR to THREE and the fourth battalion came to me at Pharkian Gali----I do not understand what was this appreciation? During the thick of Kargil conflict, Indian Generals were caught playing golf by GEORGE FERNANDEZ, when casualties from Kargil were coming to Srinagar. Some others were involved in MAY FLOWER fashion Parades and ARBORICULTURE competitions. Less said the better for the crocodile tears being shed now.

In fact, the way gallantry awards were dished out by then NDA government for a WAR LIKE SITUATION or even HALF A WAR, it was questioned by even the veterans. If it was NOT a full fledged war, then, award of over 500 gallantry awards including FOUR PVC, was questioned by many. It was said that liberal distribution of awards was to cover up the failure of NDA Government and Army HQ in not only detecting it but also mishandling it.

When Kargil- intrusion was detected in May 1999, then Northern Army commander , Lt Gen HM Khanna, had boasted that he would throw out the intruders in 48 hours. Army Chief, then, had pushed off to Poland. When a journalist had questioned him on his visit to Poland, he had given a very funny reply, which I do not wish to state here.

You see, this quote of YEH DIL MAANGE MORE, by Late Capt Vikram Batra, was made famous through an inappropriate (Cannot say clandestine) interview in a forward bunker in Kargil by a NDTV female journalist, you know who? How did she manage to reach the forward area of Combat Zone, when Capt Vikram Batra was about to move ifor another attack within hours of this sound byte? She was, then trying to earn a name for her and it is alleged that she got herself smuggled into the war zone with the help of Late Capt Vikram Batra. I doubt if she was a defence accredited correspondent, then, because NDTV was just launched in January 1998. All this ought to be forgotten because the brave heart had done an act greater than the offense he had committed. You do not question the martyr for the wrong doing.
